The Metaphysical Cinema Syndicate is a project centred around the work of poet, Granta Best Young British Writer, and film maker Xiaolu Guo with whom Matt Scott been collaborating since 2002.
Originally formed to the launch the Metaphysical Cinema Syndicate Manifesto at the Cinéréel, Pompidou Centre, Paris, 2010, the group uses film, poetry, music, and performance to challenge conventional cinema.
The Syndicate has staged poetry and music events and presented film masterclasses in Pompidou Centre Paris, Parkteatret Oslo, Capitole Lausanne, San Francisco International Film Festival, Festival Hall South Bank London, and at the Hay Literary Festival.
