Matt Scott performs on the classical freebass accordion and the bandoneón playing freely improvised music, his own compositions and songs, and providing live soundtracks to accompany film, drama, and dance.
Solo and ensemble tours have encompassed the Omi International Art Center, New York and PassaggiAtina residencies, festivals in Lazio, Puglia, and Sardinia, Italy, work with Chinese poet Xiaolu Guo in Paris, Oslo, Lausanne, and San Francisco, an award winning composition for the All Ireland Accordion Festival, and a live soundtrack for a newly discovered feature length silent film of the late 19th century Italian family circus dynasty Circo Togni, at the Sheffield Documentary Film Festival in England.
Since appearing on the experimental music scene, he has held a weekly solo residency at London’s Vortex Jazz Club, performed his music at the Royal Academy of Music accordion department 25 year anniversary celebrations, and featured as guest soloist for the Bitten By A Monkey Presents series.
